I'm Elizabeth Irwin, and I've been creating, copywriting, editing, voicing, proofreading, brainstorming, researching, supporting and project-managing for a wide range of clients in a variety of industries for about 20 years. Throughout my career, I've enjoyed the written word, thinking outside the box, establishing and nurturing professional relationships, and making other people's jobs a little easier.
My professional experience includes copywriting for all media, including web; editing manuscripts, magazines and newsletters; and providing narration for commercials, online tutorials, and CD-ROM learning tools. I'm a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association and theNorthwest Ohio Writers Forum. In 2006, I received the Crystal Award for Excellence in Writing from the Toledo Chapter of Women in Communications, Inc.
In March 2010, my personal essay "Woman Suffrage and Bad Breakups" was selected for inclusion in an e-book Why I Write, compiled by Maria Schneider of Editor Unleashed and the creative forces behind Smashwords. In September 2010, I will serve as an on-site consulting editor at the Fall Western Reserve Writers Conference at Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, OH. Look for details coming soon to lakelandcc.edu.
I have a wide range of personal interests, including genealogy and family history, health and wellness, and of course, reading and writing. When I'm not working, you can find me studying for my 3rd degree black belt in karate, volunteering at my kids' schools, or serving on committees at church.
I understand how difficult it can be to give an important project over to someone you've never met, but I also understand how to treat someone else's work with respect and the attention it needs to make it the best it can be.
